I'm not at the machine that has them on it... but I did that logo with "PORSCHE 951" and "944 turbo" under it, they both look pretty cool.

If I get a chance later today, I may stop by a local embroidery shop to see if it can be done at a reasonable price.

Okay. At this point I think it will be some variation of this logo. My vote weighs more simply because it's my idea I also like the front view, but maybe for a shirt or something later. Let's just start with this.

What I need now is a count and color color choice and type of hat preference. I will do what I can to fit everyones idea but I can't promise anything. Plan on about $20 to your door. Most of the hat styles I have looked at are about $7-8 for the hat and upwards of $8 for the embroidery depending on quantity. Then factor in shipping.

Once I have this info I will go to work.(already started the process with one company)

Suggest a new thread... Group hat buy or something to make it easier to track.

As for colour - maybe a poll?

I prefer the side-silhouette vs. front, although the front is pretty wicked. Always have liked the fatty fenders.

I think the outline should be on the front of the hat, and the "951" should be on the back. Or, better yet nothing on the back, but with the "951" on the side of the bill. I'm not as keen on the "951" being inside the car's outline.

I'm absolutely interested, but with one caveat: that it is fitted. I know this makes things a bit more complicated but I'm definitely not interested in a hat that has the big hole in the back :P

ELLLSSSSSSUUUUUUUUUU could you elaborate on what you mean by "not structured?" Do you mean you'd prefer it like this:

Or are you OK with a hat like this, in that the front part has a "backbone" of sorts:

But definitely not like this:

Also, I'm in for black with either white or red embroidery.

Thanks for doing this! Should be neat.

Definitly #1 with no backbone behind the front of the hat where the logo goes rather than #2 or #3.

I am in for a dark color as well - black or grey with red or white logo. I prefer the 951 outside the outline as well.

And like Collin and ELLSSUU - no John Deere farmer hats for me - no backbone please.

Def in for one, just about any color works for me. Fitted would work best for me as well(option #2 above)..

If anything the "turbo" type script is closest to accurate for a 951. We just have not found it in a font yet.

Posting from my phone so bear with me here.

You are right that the scripts are newer, but I think they work. I think the "944" and "911SC" above are awful, thankfully 951s don't have badges like that. I don't think "accurate" is very important. Stylized stuff from the 80's has not aged well -- look at the logo on your Saratoga sunroof. Our cars themselves look contemporary. My thought was find a typeface that is recognizably Porsche but not dated-looking.

I'm in for one (prefer black or grey with red or white embroidery, no backbone, don't care about fitted or not) whatever the final design even if just to support a good idea.

I know nobody here would go for it... but I'd rather wear a hat that reads 944, since most people actually know what a 944 is. Either way, it should look cool!
