Default Chicago area GTG?

I really don't want to be the one to have to coordinate the meet as I'm usually pretty bad about that kind of stuff. But I figure I'll throw out the suggestion anyways.

Anybody interested in getting together to chat 951? I figure some night after work during the week or something, as my weekends are pretty full for the next month or so. My thoughts were to meet in Schaumburg since it's relatively central to most areas?

Yeah sounds good. We can do the Schaumburg library parking lot... that can be a good place to meet up!

My phone # is 847-227-7282... give me a call sometime.

We can do a Sunday night after 5... I think that is when the library is closed and the parking lot will be completely empty.

Or maybe if you guys want we can go to Oberweis it's right next door

Depending on where/when I might make a trip up to it if I've got a free weekend.

I may be able to make it depending on the day. Sadly, it would be the first time my car has really gone anywhere this year.

Cool thanks for the tip. I emailed the address, we'll see what happens. Elmhurst won't be too bad for me to get to.

I wanted to go to beer night with Oliver and Lee, but it's just too far of a round trip and I could never find the time on a Thursday. Schaumburg would be closer for me coming from the far west 'burbs, but I would probably go a little farther for a good turnout.

Hi all. Last time I visited here was December, 2007. I'm glad to see Borys is active somewhere, since he and most of the other *beernighters* stopped attending the Thursday night GTGs. Ollie & I have basically decided to let those die of natural causes.......but, it was a good 10-year (or so) run. So, if anyone else wants to get something started, and provide contact information, I'd be happy to spread the word to the local email list I've been accumulating for the past few years (I think there's about 70 or more recipients). I don't know how often I'd be able to attend, but I'm sure I could make it a few times. My current workload prevents me from monitoring this forum, but my email <Lee@pmsales.com> is active all day long.

I'm up for whatever you all decide. Player's on Ashland was perfect for me (3 blocks.)

Ok - since I hate trying to coordinate stuff, and I've seen how much of a PITA it can be to convince a local establishment to let a group of car guys hang out in their lot (and be able to turn law enforcement away), I've decided to do the next best thing: latch on to someone else's meet.

There is a pretty good group of local Euro car enthusiasts from EuroTeknik.com that meet every Thursday. It's a good group of people, largely BMW enthusiasts but still good guys. They generally meet up around 7:00 in the NW burbs, BS in the parking lot for a bit, then eat, and then generally head out to a local starbucks for post-food BS'ing.

I chatted with the organizer of the weekly meets and he is cool with us crashing their meet. They are pretty specific on rules though, which, as we'd be going on my reputation, you gotta promise me you'll follow. Basically - no jerkoffs. No burnouts, squealing tires, peeling out, donuts, etc. It's an adult group who have managed to stay in the good graces of the few locations they have been going to for the last 5+ years by behaving and not screwing off. Please clean up after yourself (don't leave trash or crap behind) and please buy at least something from the establishment while you're there, even if it's just a coke or something.

Tonight's meet is @ Sonic, 1121 W. Stearns in Bartlett @ 7:15. I can't make it tonight but am probably free next Thursday. They haven't posted where next week's meet will be, but it's most commonly at Fuddrucker's in Schaumburg (436 E. Golf Rd.)

So what do you say to perhaps meeting up next Thursday @ EuroTeknik's meet, which will be most likely in the W or NW suburbs in the late evening?

I'd also encourage you to go ahead and check out ETK's site - www.euroteknik.com.

Ok cool then I will plan to go next Thursday as well. When they announce the location I'll post it up here. It's *usually* Fuddruckers but has been known to change things up a bit on occasion (like tonight w/Sonic.)

I will most likely have my 5 y/o with me (mom doesn't get home until after 7 usually) so I probably won't stick around SUPER late but will last as long as his behavior is good
