I'm not an expert by any means, but your car handling different/ blowing a strut from simply losing control seems a bit odd.

I actually bent the piston. Havent remove the spring yet to see if the piston actually goes in or not. All I know is the car was very bouncy and definitely rode higher on one side. Then again, I did send my car over an embankment at over 30mph lol
