Default Do I need new chips?

Ok, I have the LR Instant RWHp kit on my car along with a level 2 head. Now *if* I were to preform a Cat delete and a cat back exhaust, 3", would I need new chips?

As long as you are not maxing out your air flow meter, it should measure the extra flow and your chips should deliver additional fuel as needed. This is a benefit of the AFM/MAF system on the 951, compared to speed-density systems that need to be remapped when the volumetric efficiency changes. If you are using the stock AFM and turbo, at reasonable boost levels, you should be fine. You can test if you are maxing out the AFM by monitoring the voltage on Pin 7 of the DME. If it gets up close to 5vdc under wide open throttle, you are maxing it out. I doubt you are unless you have more mods than mentioned. Test pipes add noticeable power.

I want to vote the above post as most concise and usefully on topic. If only I could get my students to write that well.

Thanks, I only ask, because our new shop is very close to being finished and I now have access to a nice, new lift, and my stock exhaust has almost disintegrated from the Cat back.
