Default Brake caliper rebuild

I've asked this before and have searched, but to no avail. Has anyone rebuilt their calipers and have a good source for the parts and necessary part numbers?

Hey eyeball, I rebuilt a set of S4 calipers off my '89 turbo a few years back. Search for the following thread title under my user name 'caliper rebuild complete w/pics : Updated'. Hope that helps...

I rebuilt mine over the winter. While I don't remember the part numbers, Zeckhausen in NJ and Racer's Edge in Knoxville both carry the necessary seals and will know what you need. Luckily I didn't need new pistons so saved me some $$.

While rebuilding isn't a difficult process, it takes a while...

Jerome,

Zeckhausen looks like exactly what I need. Thanks.

I will have to get back to you after I review my receipts (at home). I purchased my seals / boots a few years ago and have no clue what the final cost was.

You can get rebuilt calipers for $38 exchange at Auto Parts Giant (plus $50 core each) or $140ish for the M030/928S4 calipers. I have not tried them but I am curious.

caliper rebuild kits are available through most online part ordering places, as well as the dealer. Last time I had to buy from the deal on short notice, I don't think the kits were all that much more than through worldpac.

OK Auto Parts Giant is cheap--cheaper than doing it myself. Anyone have any warnings regarding this option?
