It looks like you have steel braided fuel lines and it still went up in smoke, am i right? what exactly happen?

All these threads made me buy all new fuel lines, last thing to put on tommorow and now I can't think of what isn't new on the car (minus interior/exterior)

I just ordered new fuel lines for mine, cause it has a leak to it. lol

Wow.

Now I understand why some people were saying mine could probably be repaired... they thought it was something like that.

Mine looks much worse than most of those. The engine bay is a mass of black char.

I'll try to make myself take some pictures soon. But I must confess that I'm a little reluctant to go out and look at it again.

My 83 was saved from a sure death with just bottled water. Nothing like ripping the oil pan wide open on a road hazard to start a nice little fire. Believe it or not the windshield wiper fluid and it's alcohol content kept the flames going more than the oil on the exhaust.
