Default coil over install question, x-post from 944 forum

I think a lot more of the turbo guys have coil overs and adjustable camber plates.

I am not jiving with the way mine look, does not seem right.

I am installing the Paragon coil over kit with the Mookeh camber plates on 83.

It went together pretty well I think.

I put the pics here at my blog, click on them to make really, really big so you get a good look.

Question is, does this look OK? The paragon tech session article shows the spring perches sliding farther down the strut. These racers edge perches stay at the top of the strut.

Also, is the nut at the top down far enough? I can't put a wrench on it to get it super tight as it spins. Do I need to use and impact gun?

Lightbulb here is what you need to do

I looked at the pics. It is really assembled incorrectly.

here is what you need to do.

The gold adjuster nut is installed upside down.

I cant see completely, but the Paragon upper perch is for stock mounts, and the mookeh plates are "universal". So you need to modify the paragon kit to fit by machining to 22mm ID. This is the only way to allow the strut shaft to protrude enough to be safe.

You need to arrange whatever adapters you have that came with the camber plates to allow use of a nylock top nut. The one you have there is outright dangerous (as pointed out by aben8057)

When you are done, unfortunately it will make noise because the setup you have has no provision for steering, but as long as the top nut is self-locking you are good. (loctite is not good enough)
