Default buzzing noise from interior temp sensor?

I'm getting a buzzing noise from what I think is the interior temp sensor.

This unit is behind the dash and can be accesed by removing the glove box.
there is a vent to the right of the cigerete lighter that connects to the unit via a hose.

This started the other day when I noticed the hose was not connected. once i connected the hose the ac started blowing ice cold, but the buzzing noise is annoying, whats going on here?

It has a small fan, the fan is probably failing or theres something inside it hitting the blades.
