Default Crossover pipe leak = decrease in mpg?

I'm wondering if there is a relationship between my noticable decrease in MPG (went from ~500+ mile/tank to about 280) and my cracked x-over? Needless to say, I'm replacing the crossover ASAP, I'm just a bit curious...

Yikes... I am getting about 350 to 400 on combined city highway, well over 450 on the highway at a reasonable cruise.

my 951 used to get 300 miles to a tank, mainly city driving which comes out to around 18mpg.

Wow guys, my stock car did around 28-29 mpg cruising on the highway coming home.
I get 26 around town.

Now my 88S with MAF/everything was getting 280 per tank, and that was from my heavy foot.

My 951, with all manner of Vitesse goodies (Stage II turbo, MAF) and a S2 r&p just averaged 26 mpg highway from KC to Vegas and back. And yes, I got into it a *few* times on the way...

Cross over pipe leaks *should* impact fuel mileage, as thats whats driving your turbo, which in turn is designed to increase the efficiency of the engine...

Regards,

I actually get around 200mi to a little over a quarter tank. I never run it below that.
