They were also made in Zuffenhausen mainly because Porsche started to fabricate 968 in Zuffenhausen. It was good to practise with 944 models first, after all it was Audi people who had most experience what comes to assembling 944 models. I have seen quite many 1991 S2's which were built in Zuffenhausen.

Hi Olli. They are chasis numbers not VINs, taken from Peter Morgan's book. I agree with you that it doesn't always tell the whole story, but what single source ever does. That's why these forums are so great.
