Default Re-installing stone guards

Does anyone have any advice on how to re-install the stone guards? I've gotten the old ones off, but now I want to make sure I position the new ones properly. I searched and didn't find anything.

Get a pan big enough to hold the guard, and fill it with a a mixture of water and rubbing alcohol. Dip the stone guard and get it entire wet, then when you position it on the body it will slide around as you position it. Use a plastic squeegie to press it on and slide the air bubbles out, working from the center out. Make sure the paint is clean as a whistle before applying the gaurd. Don't try to do it dry -- you'll get finger prints in the adhesive and it'll be almost impossible to place properly on the first try. The adhesive is unaffected by the water/alcohol, so no worries there.

+1

Also a spray bottle can be used in place of the pan, just make sure you get the side of the car good and wet, as well as the adhesive side of the dacals... Take your time and everything should be fine...

Same method as above but I used a bowl of water with a drop of dishwashing detergent, worked well.

While we're on the topic, any good way to remove an old baked on guard? I can get the top plastic off but getting the old adhesive off seems to be the trick.

Bug and tar remover and a big pink pencil eraser.

Roger that. Sounds promising but never would have thought of that on my own. +1 for Rennlist.
