Serioulsy, any idea how soon you'd be ready to go to market on teh MOMonitor? I am in the process of installing a carputer in my 951, using one of those micro laptops running XP with a touchscreen in the dash. I am planning on using it to monitor my Vitesse piggyback, Zeitronix and this would be an awesome add to it.

Regards,

Oh yes, she likes the 914, she doesn't care for the 930 or the 951 (which is good). Next time she hears the 914 run, she'll add it to the list of the "I don't like it category" .

Well, we have to get your Wasted Spark done first. Once the user specs are written, functional specifications signed on, design specs completed and reviewed, the development starts. Then we have the beta test, then more testing. Write the user manual and start manufacturing... I'll say a couple of days (not!).

BTW you don't even need a computer in the car for this... This whole idea started as we are working on something different (non 951 related). The main project will take precedence.. However, once we decide to move ahead with this, it'll be short while to get things ready to deliver.

My 914 is just a toy, not a race car. I supercharged the 2.0L engine using a Mercedes SLK supercharger (as a fun project), it made 160hp (not bad for a engine that was originally rated at 80-85hp). Now, I'm pulling the Supercharger off, and installing a turbo.. I'm having a debate with a good friend; I want to convince him that turbos when selected properly can be very efficient and will spool as quickly as you want.
The best part of this, I'm using a 944NA engine modified harness and DME, MAF and wasted spark. V-FLEX of course! Actually this is the first application to use the V-FLEX

The 930 engine will not make it till it's rebuilt, massaged and loved on (ie. LOTS of power). Of course the proper safety equipment will go in first...
And when that car is together we need to have a South East GTG so we can check it out.

You are right about the 914. Found a pic at Road Atlanta. Speedwerks is the shop they also have a 934 or 935. Or maybe they are converting a 934 to 935.

Keep us posted when that 914 T is together and it is a done deal.

Yeah I like the turbo in the background. Nice car.

FYI the 914 is apparently only 640 HP and 2200 lbs.

From memory it is a TT 996 motor.

I could be totally off. It has been 2 years since I have seen it.

I looked into the time stamp. There is a good chance it will be supported.

Just found this thread.

If you can monitor the important tuning stuff (timing, injector duty cycle, throttle position, RPM, knock, 02 sensor) along with accurate timestamps for each snapshot with the ability to record and export, I'd be VERY interested.

Pricing suggestion would be to keep it, at a MAX, at the pricing levels of the Ross-Tech VAG-COM (which does a LOT more, actually lets you enter into and change values in each of the controllers, etc. on VW/Audi products.) http://www.ross-tech.com. If all this thing is gonna do is be able to monitor and record, then keeping it under VAG-COM pricing, IMO, would make sense... though I'm sure sales volumes on this tool is probably a lot less than Ross-Tech's too. Maybe offer a package deal of the software + chip? (My car's previous owner put a Weltmeister chip in, so I'd have to swap over to yours to make this logger thing work.)

VAG-Com is meant for the cars with OBD system, so that's the main reason it can more things. Our ancient systems are something else, only late S2 models have somthing you can call pre-OBD. So comparing John's system to VAG-Com is not right. I would like to have Motronic Monitor when John code it for the metric system, i just cannot understand those american standards, have to convert them in my head to metric

Ok, here's another example: http://www.pocketlogger.com/index.php?pid=pldsm

I had one of these for my '93 Talon, way back in the day. $99 for the software + cable, and another ~$99 for a cheap Palm Pilot, and I had a full-on datalogger, that actually worked pretty well. I used it to tune my car at the time (Apex S-AFC, big fuel system, T04E, etc.)

I live in america and have a hard time understanding american standard units of measure. Metric just makes so much more sense.
