Default cooling fan 2 (driver side) fuse blowing=bad motor?

from what I have read when the cooling fan is blowing fuses it's a driect sign of the motor being bad...is that right? Anything else I should trouble shoot before knowing that this is the problem??

Thx!

The wiring to the fan resistors could be bad or the wiring to the fan relay. The fan resistors on an 86 are on the inside firewall behind the glovebox.

Unplug the connector to the fan, if the fuse doesn't blow, its the fan motor.

Thanks..I've checked the resistors and they look ok...what's the best way to access the connector? To remove the belly pan and get at it from the bottom?

Thanks..
