Who can tell me what suspension bushings to buy.
87 951 stock as far as I know for now, street duty, plan to use for highway driving mostly but will hit twisties each and every chance I get.
Racers Edge Monoballs?
OEM?
opinions are as valuable as direct experience to me at this point.
I may have ordered the RE monoballs, but not been invoiced for them yet. Kinda looking for suggestions...
are the monoballs too ridgid for street use? for reference I love my LR solid trans mount in my N/A, noisy little bastard, but WOW what a difference, can I expect the same from the monos up front? Should I stick with softer bushings up front?
As of right now I am planning on pulling the entire front suspension off and replacing everything I can at one time, I was hoping to do this all this weekend, but can wait if I will end up with a better handling car in the end...

If you've got the money, do the full RE set. It's good stuff.
But, seriously, for street driving OE is all you need. A fresh set of bushing and new shocks will transform the car. (It'll make it like the sports car Porsche intended!)

I use Elephant racing monoballs and bushings.. and they work great. My car is a M030 car, mainly a street car, full weight with a/c, etc.. I will be going to a KW suspension soon.

I upgraded to the Racer's Edge monoball caster mounts and front a-arm bushing. I use the car on the track and it gets some daily driver use. They look great, but I'm not sure it really made much of a difference - yes, everything is nice and tight, and I suppose if I pushed the car 100% the performance gap might be noticeable, but I'm not sure it was worth the $600+ that I paid, probably would have been better suited to something else. I don't know if what you give up with having the rubber (noise absorption, ride quality, less stress on the a-arm) on a daily driver are worth the gains from the monoball. These are probably a true racing-only need.

I have Elephant Racing as well, not quite a full set but getting there. I have the control arm front monoballs, trailing arm monoballs, tbar tube bronze ones for tbar delete, and I have upper blade mounts that someone on here made (they bolt the trailing arm blade thing to the body, just a solid block of aluminum). I just have to get the caster monoballs then ill have the full set.
IMHO, theyre very well made and awsome on the street.... And theyre girlfriend approved I wouldnt get the Racers Edge ones for mostly street use, since theyre not weather sealed. Elephant Racing has nice rubber seals on their monoballs to keep grit out.

Same price as OEM replacements for the front arms, but you get a full set minus the upper torsion tube mounts...
Delrin front A Arm
968 rear A Arm
torsion tube inner, outer, and lower mount
Delrin trailing arm
I am planing on doing the monoball upper strut mount, adding euro fogs, new tail lights, suspension (Koni yellow replacements for the factory 474 stuff), PS system refurb all at the same time, most of it is to pass inspection and replace worn parts, I would rather do it once, and not have to do it again...
I know I am a pu**y for not just ordering them already, but I am torn with dropping $800 on something I won't end up liking in the end, I would like to get improved handling, but am holding the OEM replacements as a fall back position... I only want to do the alignment once, as shops around me charge out the *** and only end up adjusting the toe... I am also considering picking up the camber-caster adjustment setup from paragon and doing the alignment myself...

I would stay with the RE or Elephant product. Those are both top notch. Some folks run delrin stuff, but they can bind and they should wear more, over time, than the monoball RE or Elephant products. Those are top notch.
This is reasonably important, so don't rush. Make sure you get what fits your goals.
As for being stiff, "some" folks think Bilstein Escort Cup coil overs with 350# + springs, is way too much for the street. I LOVED my stiff suspension. So, do what you want to do with your car. You'll get used to the taughtness of the new bushings, etc.
Delrin stuff will be no less harsh than the better monoball RE or Elephant stuff. Go for that.

I think I will go with the ER, get the weather seals as I do not have the luxury of knowing what the weather is doing on any given day at either my home or work so... I do see rain, but drive the Audi if the temp is going below freezing... so no snow...
I do want to try my hand at Auto-X or a DE or two here and there..
Thanks for the advice, I am not afraid of stiff suspension either, would rather have too stiff as opposed to too soft, having alignment hold as expected in a hard corner is what I am really looking for, some lifespan is also preferable, comfort is secondary to form and function for me...

I believe I have more than enough time, know I have enough money, all I need is more patience.... Monoballs here I come, damn the rest go for the best, ER will be on order before the end of the day (just need the wife to walk away long enough for me to launch the order)
