Default Central Ohio shops

Well it's time to do the belts, water pump etc... I bought the car knowing that it would need to be done early-mid this year thinking that I'd do the work myself however my car is in Ohio and I'm in Mississippi till August and just won't have the time. So where do you guys recommend, it's been serviced by Steinels the past 10 years is it worth the 2.5 hr drive to get it up there? I've heard about acceleration and North end wrench in columbus but does anyone have anywhere else to recommend. As always thanks for the help.

May want to talk to Ryan and Artie... They know all of the good shops around, and have even been doing a little side work themselves.

Thanks dude I sent Artie a message. I wish I could make it back to Ohio more often, that's badass that you bought Ryans car though when I make it back we'll all have to go for a cruise.

I've had North End Wrench do alignments on my car and they have always done a top notch job. I've always had Dave work on my car there and I have nothing but good things to say. However like Nelson said, Artie and Ryan may be able to help you out if you can get ahold of them. PM me if you need their phone numbers.

Nate, We'd love to do the work. I don't know if Artie got back with you, but I'd be willing to bet we'll be the most cost effective shop with 944 experience in town. Let me know if you want a rebuilt or a new water pump, and I'll get you a firm price.
I saw your message on facebook...I am kind of staying in the air cooled porsche world for now. I bought a mega cheap 914 to do a 6 cylinder conversion on eventually, and I have been fighting the urge to buy an M roadster for a daily driver. The M is currently on hold though.
Hope everything is going well with the flying, I can barely find time to meet with my instructor, and I'm getting antsy to solo.
Talk to you soon.

Thanks guys for all the info. Ryan I'd probably go with the new pump if you guys really want to do it. As of now it doesn't really matter how long the car is in a shop cause it's just sitting other then when my dad gets it out. Let me know what you guys think. You'll have to finish up flying sometime and of course if you guys ever have any interest in getting your instrument rating or commercial let me know I'd be more then happy to help if you've got the airplane. I won't be back for good until Feb 2010 but I'd be more then happy to fly with you guys.

Yeah I think you met my father last year at a car show that was a few months after I left. I'm hoping to get home for a few days around the 4th of july and get the car out, we'll see if that happens though. Did you buy Ryans orange wheels? If so those things are bad would look sick on your car. Hope all is well up in Ohio, I can't wait to get back.

Nate,

I'm pretty sure I met your father at the same car show last summer, and actually I think I have a picture of him too, haha.

I'm pretty sure that is your car third in line there behind mine and Vic's. Super clean car you have! This central Ohio group of 951's is just getting bigger and bigger
