Default Search engine is dead...need some help.

I hate to even ask....

50et fronts and 55et rears will work on an early offset Turbo ('86) with 1" spacers (28mm) in 7" & 9" rim widths, respectively. This I know....

But what about 55etfronts and 65et rears in 8" & 10" ,respectively front and rear? I have been informed that the fronts might be OK, but that the rears would be pushed out into the fenderwell....and the confusion sets in

Need some help on this guys, TIA!

Pretty easy. BTW 1" = 25.4mm's.

Since you are increasing wheel an additional inch over the rear 9" (12.7mm each direction from the centerline of the wheel) and the 10" wheel has an increase off set of 10mm's over the 9's, the wheel will be pushed out 2.7mm's further then the 9" wheel using the same 1" spacer.

The fronts will stick out 7.7mm's further then the 7" wheel with the same spacer.

So it seems as if there is little issue then.

I had probably 4mm of clearance with Cup II's and a 1" spacer @ 50 &55, so these should clear...barely, but clear.

Thanks Jeremy

On the rear yes.....but as chris suggested it will depend on tire size. You'll be fine with a 275. A 295 might be pushing it a bit and will require camber changes (bad idea) or a different spacer (19mm's) to compensate for clearance.

On the front if you only had 4mm's of clearance and are adding another 7 then you have an issue that may not be resolved by camber changes.

With those wheel widths I would un a 245 ft and a 275 rear tire. I know many guys run a 225 in the front on these still but I don't see the point of adding rubber in the back and which increases the factory stagger and makes understeer even worse. I run a 255 & 275 on my 9x18 and 10 x 18" wheels.

OK...I have not purchased tires yet, so 245's front and 275's rear it is.

Are these tire sizes based on a 1" spacer?

Sorry for all the questions...but thanks for the insight.

Patrick, the front offset is 50mm not 55, just to keep things straight.

Are your fender wells rolled yet? That will help in fitting larger tires.

If using as 245 on the front you may need to play with spacer size a bit. Especially if the ET is 50 because it will stick out 12.7 mm's more then the 7" wheel with the same spacer.
