Default Turbo Temp sensor Question

With the new 27/6 I have issues with the sensor clearing the Intake. With it not attached would the turbo be recievingg coolant all the time or not at all. Curious where the system will default?

I had one welded but the job was poor and it leaks. I have a low profile AI will try to put in, but I would rather work on anothger approach as I dont like how flattened it is to clear the turbo.

Thanks
Steve

With the sensor disconnected yes the turbo would still get coolant, but only with the engine running.

Theres a low profile sensor that works, why not get one of those?

ECHFS158 is the part number of a low profile sensor that works. NAPA carries it.

I have one, that I will install, had it shipped to my mechanics shop, I will install this weekend. I would like to redo with some AN type fittings. If I can have a male or female welded to the collant pipe, I can use the fiitings to finish.

Are you sure you would still receive coolant? B/c the wire off that sensor came off once while driving. Then on a cold morning I started the car to warm up and go into the house. I come out 10 min later and see coolant everywhere and the gauge in the red.
i found the turbo electric water pump fell apart due heat and leaked. Therefore the engine overheated.

The turbo water pump will run for a little under a minute after you shut off the engine. With the sensor, it will continue to run until the water cools down. If you delete the sensor and go with the setup below, you can hook a switch to the sensor wire. With the switch turned on, the turbo pump will run. Just have to remember to turn it off after the engine cools off a bit.

Special Tool suggested the following parts, they work really well and are the correct size threads. You do loose the turbo water pump sensor but the fit is first class.

And how would you run where the sensor was? That fitting is for a hose, right? Where would you run that hose?

We have set some up with a relay, vs the temp switch. Put it wherever you want to hide it. Pump runs every time you hit the key, cold motor or not, and only runs for the 60 seconds and no longer no matter how hot.

Well I was going to dig up a picture but all the search tools went away...strange. You remove the original tube that connects to the turbo and the sensor, and connect the water line that went to the tube to the fitting in the link above.
