I would not exceed 15psi with the APE stage 2 chips. Im pretty sure thats what they are mapped for. Just a word of warning, i had those chips on my car previously and they run mega lean in the high RPM range even in the <15psi range. In the sub 4500rpm range they will run down into the mid 10 AFR's and past 5k will dither into the 13 AFR's. Not a great tune really.

Like Carlos said, get a wideband so you can monitor the AFR. This is one of those things that goes hand in hand once you start upgrading.
15psi is a relativley safe boost pressure to run on pump gas. Anything higher and you start loosing that margin for error. Personally i would ditch the APE chips and get something with a better tune. Then a dual port wastegate and manual or electronic boost controller will help you hold maximum boost to redline, which really improves the drivability.
You dont need the MAF setup, the stock AFM and chip will do fine.

I have the same mods as you and a K26/8, and I have my boost set to 18-19psi peak. By redline, its down to 15 again...but I find anything over that creates too much backpressure anyway. Ive been running like this for over a year with no trouble.
I want to ditch the autothority chips asap, as I am getting tired of having the back of my car covered in black soot for running so rich.

Well generally it's more of a "Crackle craclke crackle BANG"
One time I ran out of gas and absent mindedly put a some 87 in my car then boosted to 18PSI...
"Why does it sound like there are marbles in my down pipe??"

I have the same chip And just ordered the manual boost control and some other goodies from LR. Would putting larger injectors (55#) make a diference? do I need to take that bajo screw off and put the stock back on? What is the function of this screw? Is there a better chip?

The basic HP adders are MAF with chips and fuel controller, boost controller, test pipe/exhaust, wastegate (tial 38 or 46 are popular), then bigger turbo and injectors. A boost gauage and wideband are essential before you start though, along with a strong ignition.
