944 J: Dude, the first DOOM car that was stolen was the 930 based with a 3.6.

The 968 block was a 3.0ltr turbocharged motor that was designed to be rebuilt after each run pretty much.

When the 968 was outlawed he turned it into a drag car.

And yes, there is definately a mist of secrecy surrounding these cars and motors.

N-dub: We're making headway on the car.

The largest capacity i4 I've heard of on here is 3.4L although I know of one larger being built. I can't remember the name of the guy who had the 3.4L but I think he was somewhere hot like the Caribbean?

Yes we know where that lump resides Chris. Tell us more if you can?

Also, when the car ran on the track and beat everything by half a lap, what class did it run in and against what other cars? Pity Dez came and went so quickly around these parts. His take on what happened was great to read.

It was run in GT class I belive, the old sytem would have put into GT1. It would have run against 911 turbos.
Oddly enough it would be legal for the current prototype class!

Really? I was sure it was 3.4L because I knew of the UK one that is 3.2L and I always thought there was one that was bigger again?

JMG BUILD 944 3.2 Turbo SE! December 2006

Everyone said it could not be done... So we did it to prove everyone wrong.. A 3.2 944 turbo engine (We can actually build a 3.4 if anyone wanted one!) for one of our customers... He had a 944 Turbo that had just suffered engine failure and wanted something "interesting" we wanted to prove a point... So the 3.2 944 turbo was born!!! (edit: June 2008 and its still going strong and another 2 have been built!)

http://www.jmgarage.com/news-headlines.htm#

So that is 3 3.2 engines built, with 3.4 achievable right?

Yes, that's Paul / Diver's 3.2 from Jon Mitchell in England. I was sure that there was a larger one built and a guy came and went on these forums with a 3.4L? Maybe I am mistaken. I do know of a larger one that is half built so you can go up in capacity from 3L.
