Default Which brake pads???

Sensor is lighting up, not sure which one(s) yet.

'86 Turbo

Have cross drilled rotors (not measured yet).

Spirited street driving.

I'm gathering sensors get replaced when doing pads? Or is that only if they contacted?

I'm not sure if you can put them on your MY but my '87 has Pagid Black pads on it and it stops that car, fast!!

Porterfield R4S

I think they are one of the best street pads available. Great for auto-x also. A little dusty, no noise and easy on rotors.

From "search" it appears the Porterfield R4S would be a good choice???

I like what's on there except they are pretty dusty. But I don't know what they are as they came with the car.

EDIT:

Typed this while you posted Techno. Thanks.

I'll pull the wheels off this weekend and read what needs to be done. Do the Porterfields accepts the pad sensors? I have drilled rotors (also installed by PO...everything was done at a German shop). Hopefully they(rotors) still have some life left.

Any concensus on rotors if I need them? The drilled look nice, but with the Borbet "A" wheels, you can't see much.

Nothing really showing off the rims. The 9" rears really have some nice deep dishes. They could stand to be refinished.

Is there really any interest in these wheels? I couldn't find much about 'em when I googled 'em.

Pics are rather grainy as I took them at dusk when I was taking some pics of the wife's '95 Mustang Gt that moved over for Roush 427R for Christmas.

They get cleaned on occasion...that wasn't the occasion. ;-)

They really need to be refinished. I'd like to find or make up some Porsche badged centers.

Sizes 7.5 and 9 x 16.

OK...so I took the wheels off to inspect the brakes. Seems there's plenty of material left. The fronts have 1/4"+ of material and the backs have 3/8+. These are all bonded brakes correct? So any material adhered to the ~3/16" plates is available for use?

If this is all correct, then apparently one or more sensors is acting up. The light isn't on at start up, but lights up more often than not after a bit of driving/braking.

Best measurement I could get on rotor thickness was 0.780", but there are some grooves I can't pick up with the rotors mounted. This would be max thickness vs. minimum thickness at clean-up.

Ideas???

P.S. and Dean would happy to know, I cleaned the wheels while they were off. The insides were grodey.

off the top of my head I wanna say the sensor sticks out into the pad about 3/16" or 1/4" which would explain why the sensor light is coming on.

Pagid RS 4-2 – blue

Almost no noise with anti-squeal backing plates. No grinding on rotors. And a pad that you can race with all day long (which I do....).

Best pad for the money on a street car that does track time, or even a dedicated track car depending on the weight / track conditions , however on a dedicated track car other Pagid pads may very well be a better choice.

I run this pad on my LS1 951 hard on the track. It's a pretty good match for my setup.

While I agree with Tony re the 'All rounder' status of the Blue I would say that the Black is definitely better on the track but this is personal preference too. IMHO.
My favourite track pad is the PFC 01 or 97 btw.
