Run what you brung. Forget 2.5L or pump or whatever else restrictions. Out and out shootout. Do your best! Have classes if you like.

I guess it's day time over in Australia? Rogue and I seem to be up pretty late. - I don't know why, but I slept all day and now can't get back to sleep. I guess the holiday wore me out.
Class.. 'how about most average horsepower. This is where the faster cars are.

Yeah my body clock is out a little too.
I guess having a set boost and fuel isn't a bad idea. Pretty easy to police. Then do whatever for the Open classes. Top number wins.

Yeah - up all night for New Years... slept all day so can't go to sleep when I should

I like the average HP thought... HP per psi will surely illustrate whoever spent $$$ on a quality head and big displacement.

I think maybe two classes with two subclasses in each. 2.5L and 3.0+L for the two separating classes. The subclasses - pump gas and 'top fuel'. Can have a peak hp and average hp winners.

Maybe too much? 'eh - hell give everyone who shows up, dynos and doesn't blow-up an award

RE: Tools car..... remember the threads a few months back on this?? Was with a massive turbo, and def. NOT pump gas. IIRC the usable power band was from 6000-8000 or something rediculous. 602 is an amazing number, but FAR from streetable/trackable. There is a dyno sheet on it somewhere.

EDIT: FWIW Jim's a great guy, and I'm not knocking him!!

The mystery engine I speak of is not mine, nor do I have anything to do with it. It does belong to a rennlist person who post here. A VERY special engine.

Lets say as a tease, I think nothing like this has ever been done before and never to this level. If this engine made it to the shootout, my moneys on this one. Forget 600HP, just make sure the dyno can read above 1000HP. The problem will be the car. It might twist into a ball.

Once this engine is done, the 944 Turbo world is in for a treat. I am amazed at the parts that have been built for this engine. It just goes to show, if people put their minds to it, anything can be done. It is truely a piece of art.

Well done to the owner. You have done an amazing job!

but then it is more down to driver skill than the car (certainly on a road course).

LOL........ It's a dyno shoot out , highest number wins !

I does not matter if ST makes 600 whp @ 8000 , it's all about max numbers....

Hmmm :

Avg , WHP ,,, ,

I know what about highest power on one Qt of fuel

Ok , Ok ,,, Highest avg power without the boost gauge moving

Ok, Ok, Highest avg power without the fuel pressure going over 45 psi

Looking for proof.

Evil 944 needs to get the project done. 1000hp dyno would be fun.

And clearly. A.Wayne's right. A dyno Shootout is it's own animal. Max wins.
But at the track... As TMS and Tool proved. There's a big difference between max, and usable.

This is why I like track times and 1/4 mile times. Who can actually use their power.
