Default Hunting for wheels...fitment?

There is a million threads on this, but I figured it couldnt hurt to hear some recent personal experiences...

Ive got an 87 924S with wide flared fenders and the suspension/brakes from an 86 944 Turbo. (early offset front and aluminum rear - ET23) and am looking for some wheels. Right now ive got early offset 15X7 cookies.

Im also using coilovers in the front with 2.5" springs, so I gain some clearence there. Im looking for something in 16" or 17" that wont break the bank - and Im looking to avoid spacers if possible.

What have you guys managed to get to fit on the 86 951?

So far it looks like 951 fuchs are my only option...NO TELEDIALS! haha

Thanks in advance for any suggestions, experiences, help pictures etc!!!

There are several wheels in 86 fitment that don't require spacers. I've got 3 sets at my house right now. Hoping to pair down to the Fuchs and either the Speedlines or the Twists pretty soon. Don't know which I'll sell.

Two of them pictured below. The left are aftermarket 17" Technology Twists and the right are Speedline Alessio's. I've also got a set of 951 Fuchs in the attic.

What are the offsets on those rims? I know the fuchs are 23mm...

How much flare do you have in the back? Even when I had a modest rear flare I was able to fit 17x9 cups with 255's. 17x7.5's (with 215's) can be fit in the front as well if you have 2.5" od springs and slightly role the fender. Cup wheels are late offset.

I believe the tech. Fronts are 17x7.5et23. Rears are 17x9et15. They fit perfect on my 86. Speedlines are wider in the rear.

Lemming - this was on your 924S?

If I put late offset wheels on its looking like they may fit from my measurments without spacers, but they'll be way to far inboard and might look funny...

This car is body kitted to look like the 944's fenders, so for wheel fitment purposes its essentially an 86 turbo.

What size are the speedlines?

Speedline wheels - 17x8.5 et25 17x9.5 et20

BTW, I checked the Tech. Twists and they're actually 17x7.5et 23 and 17x9et 15. I amended the above post to not confuse anyone.
