I think West has it... better modulation (read: control) in circumstances that would normally trigger the ABS.

If you want faster corner entry speed, ABS isn't going to help that - but car balance is. You might find that you're better off braking earlier, getting the car balanced, then turning in at a higher speed...

Just remember physics.

Stand alone ABS. Another option. Edit nevermind that is just the Bosch system.

You're another case where the 951 ABS works even with an inch of so variance in tire diameter front to rear, which is about what mine runs. [Hoosier 275/40 rears, 245/40 fronts]
Now I need to methodically test the wheel sensors and harness to find the problem. I suspect it may be a dead wheel sensor that's tripping it off. There's no question that ABS is worth having as a tool, even if it is the slower 3 channel setup in the 951.
Tony,

I have run 245/16 F and 275/16 R with the same 1" difference in diameter between R and F. I had ABS issues at WG which is not a bumpy track. I was subsequently told that it may have something to do with not using the rotor screws which was put on. My ABS light has not come on since then using either the above size or 245/18 and 285/18 which have the same dismeter.

I also have had the sensor wire split before. Once soldered back together, it has worked fine.

Saving hundreds to thousands on tires that won't get flat spotted with the ABS...Priceless.

Tony,

You make any progress on this that you are wiling to share?

Yeah,

I now have a complete electro-hydraulic assist system from a 993TT. I was thinking about replacing my hydraboost with the 993TT setup. Mainly for packaging reasons and the fact that the powersteering pump would no longer have to do both brakes and steering (not that's been a problem with the new custom pump...).

So that's where I'm at. Plus I need the ABS sensors and it would be nice if I could find a donor ABS harness off of a 951.

I've just not had any time to put into the project (because I've been too busy racing it!!!).
