Got the idea out of Excellence with a few mods. I took an old set of door panels from the parts car and cut off the top part with a utility knife and resprayed with vinyl dye. Used the bottom part as a template on a piece of 1/8" floor underlayment. Covered with naugahyde vinyl and secured with trim screws. Door pulls made from 1" cotton webbing with a grommet in each end and covered with a piece from an old guitar amp handle bolted to the door. Total cost was about $15.

Potent: Nothing connecting the two pieces but it would be easy to make a clip that would slide behind the bottom piece and attached to the top piece. It's a track car so I was just tinkering.
Spidey: I'm cheap...can't help it
Deano: Thanks! Just thought I'd share.

Your next track passenger will be pissed! ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
the stock door set up is real nice to grab a hold off when riding/instructing on the right side!
looks pretty good, when I get a free minute I should make some up for the track car.
Better yet - have you considered making some up for sale? most of the work is making up the template and cutting - do that in bulk and you could crank these out! I am sure there is some interest!

Thanks guys.
Chris: Next passenger is REALLY going to be pissed. This all started when fabbing up the cage. I'll be in the instructor corps in the spring so any students will have to wiggle around just to get in it!
Alex: Yes I remember you well. Hope all is good with you and our paths will probably cross agan this year.
What Alex is talking about is another one of my cheapa$$ ideas. I bought a set of the european fog light kits and wanted to protect them from cracking. I got tired of taping them up all the time so I took some left over vinyl siding and cut a template that would cover the lights and secure using the attachment points for the plastic end caps with nylon stanchions to keep it flat. Took pictures of the lights and printed them out on the laser and spray glued to the siding pieces and then covering with clear contact paper and glued some gasket material to the back for extra padding. Don't have any good pics but they are on the car in the avatar. Easily removed and reusable and no cracks in the lights but the vinyl has been punctured several times.
