Why did Porsche put gas cap on passenger side?
Just wondering why it's on the passenger side and not the driver's side which is more convenient, just curious...

they had four choices.
The Pinto got the rear bumper nixed.
Porsche's relocation of the motor from the rear to the front got under the front bonnet nixed.
Then Hans und Franz two politically opposed engineers flipped a coin, and the republican won, so it is on the right side of the torque tube. Or was it the democrat won and you pull to the left of the pump to get your wallet squeezed.

Different strokes for different blokes.
From just a quick search the 350z, 240sx, WRX, G37, GT-R, Supra, Cobalt, new Camaro (spy shots at least), and SRT-4 have them on the passenger side as well.

American cars - went for convienence over safety
Japanese cars - remember that the driver side is the 'other' side over there!
Interestingly enough teh new Mini is on the american drivers side - keep in mind that the English also drive on the other side....and vthe new Mini is made in England but by a German owned company (BMW).

Your supposed to pull to the right side.
The exhaust is on the left, so the gas tank really doesn't fit there.
The exhaust is on the left because all fast cars have the exhaust on the left.
