Default quick wheel spacer question

I'm picking up some 993 twists for my 87' 951.
18X8 et 50 front
and 18X11 et 45 rear.

I believe that the fronts should fit without spacers, but do the rears need 5 mm spacers, or what?
TIA

You won't NEED spacers to get it line for stock ofset purposes but it's probably going to be a tight fit depending on the tire you use. You may need small ones for appropriate clearance. ET is based on offset from the centerline of the wheel. With that offset you're essentially adding 31 mm's to the inside and 45mm's to the outside of the stock 8" wheel.

Ehall, at one time I tried 18x11 et 41 and the wheel stuck out by over an inch past the fender lip. You need an ET closer to 55'ish..

IMHO, 11"s are to big for a stock body. I have 3pc wheels and I found 10's to be the best. Trust me, I spent a lot of money on wheel halves to get the ET's perfect and ended up back to 10's.. Even 10 1/2's were tight!(without cutting or trimming)

Unless you want to start cutting up the car.. It wasn't worth it to me.

If you want the rears to fit you could convert to early offset and use a spacer. Now the question is, how bad do you want these wheels?

The wheels are bought. So what needs to be done to the rears to cram them in there? Other than converting, though I guess I could, but a touch of body work may end up cheaper? Not sure.
How does one convert the rear from an ABS car to 86 rear components? Hubs, spindles, new axelas? Cripes! Seems like a fender rolling would be a touch easier and cheaper. not sure.

I thought that 87' stock wheels were et 50 and 86 was et 23? No?

Converting the rear suspension to early offset and not the front would not be a wise decision.

If you are going to change the offset, you should do both front and rear (which still would not be a good decision since you're going "backwards" in time, but at least the handling wouldn't be screwed up).

You can get 11" 295 tires under stock rear fenders if you have the correct offset. And you can even get 315's under the stock rear fenders with some fender pulling/rolling. But the rims you have won't work at all unless you go early offset rear suspension.

Thanks T.G.
What's entailed in "rolling" the rear fenders? The rear offsets are 45, so I'm probably pushing it, but they are bought. Now I'll have to find a way to make it work. I'm not racing them, and I am at stock ride height, if that helps.

Thanks for the help so far guys.

I'm not at my work station, but I'm presuming that you have 993TT rear wheels.

correct?

I didn't know 993 twists came in that offset. That offset is the same as the 996tt hallow spokes I'm fitting on my 86.

8x18 50 and 11x18 45 Spacers will be 25mm and 14 or 15mm

I'm going to be the third owner. I sold my 86 and I'm putting these...I HOPE!, on my 87. I do belive that they came off of a SWEET 993TT. they have a grey metallic powdercoat. They are gorgeous. Can't wait to see them on my Nautic Blue 951!

If not, I'm certain that they will sell.

so those are the spacer numbers you are using for the wheels in the pic, on your 86, right?

Ain't gonna happen unless you go to a full early suspension setup (which has no provisions for ABS BTW).

Sell em to someone with an early offset car and find your self a set of these... which are 18x11 x 295's which will fit your car with minor fender rolling:

These are the only 11" factory wheel that will fit the late offset suspension. They are 11x18" with 295's.

CRAP! Okay...That sux! I got my numbers all wrong! Dammit! They were absolutely perfect!
So what offsets do I need to find for front and rear with say 8 or9" fronts and 10" rears, on my 87? That would help a ton! I'd like to find wheels. Porsche stock, that I can run without a spacer.
Then I can go find what I need
