Interesting Gauging for TRS front splitter

Hi all

Mark and I have received several queries in the last 12 months for the front splitter that I have custom built for my 951...this made us consider offering this one-off unit as a new product to our customers...

Here's the splitter I am referring to:

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q...Splitter_3.jpg

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q...Splitter_4.jpg

The design and shape of the splitter looks much better in person than it does in these pictures...it compliments perfectly the lines of the car and the corner bits are not as "in your face" as they i.e are with a 993 GT2...

We did some calculations and for serial production we could offer this splitter including the corner bits in high-quality FRP for 285 euros.

As we have always enjoyed being here on Rennlist in the past we would consider offering you guys a group buy for 10 units at a group buy price of 245 euros plus the possibility to ship in bulk of 5 units drastically reducing the shipping costs "over the pond"...

what do you think? If we get 10 rennlisters here together we will start with the serial production...

Cheers

Beni

high-quality FRP : is that fiberglass (=stiff) ?

One made in a stiff material won't survive the ramp at the entrance of my garage ...

FRP = Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic. So yes, fiberglass. Usually with a polyester epoxy resin as the matrix.

Beni: that's one great-looking splitter. I'd definitely commit if I had the cash.

Also, your car is literally the ONLY red car that has ever looked sexy with white wheels. Period.

hmm if the cost was $285 and not euros then I'd be in on this without question. Given the current exchange rate however that's simply too much money for me...sadly. It's great looking item that really updates the car to current styling. Hopefully there are 10 people willing to commit, I'd love to see this made eventhough I can't afford it myself.

Count me in if in $$

I'm in the same boat. The exchange rate really sux for Americans.

Beni,
I'd be interested. Happy to wait for Mark to bring it back to Cheshire where I would pick it up in person. Any chance of a price in £ sterling? By the way, some time back Mark mentioned that you might be getting a silicon cooling system hose set manufactured; any news on its progress?
Thanks
Mike

yeh we all love it but Pat has been busting his arse trying to make one for Under 200 US
it might make sense in your part of the world but were i am its stratospherically expensive .
I'd swap you an EMS ECU for one or other stuff in my FS thread

Hi all

Thank you for your comments and feedback.

Please note that this splitter was far more challenging to develop and is more complex to manufacture than most of the splitters available on the market that do not have the GT2 / DTM style the corner elements...

I have seen the other thread about the CPR splitter which I think is a great and durable product...I have my concerns though if the same construction technique can be applied to this design of splitter...I guess it would have to be nearly solid and not hollow in order to stay stable also at very high speeds...

Anyway, Mark and I went through the very best price we could offer you guys in the US for that new product... We ended up with 299$ also to be considered as a Christmas offer for Rennlisters...

So who is in for that price?

Cheers

Beni

Whoa I bet a bunch of people will jump on that price! Too bad you dont have one for an NA haha.

$299.00 is a great price. However i'm already in line for one of patricks.

Its a great looking splitter. Best of luck.
