Oil relief valve questions

If one had, say, a really big piece of machinery designed to cut metal, would that do the trick?
I really don't know - from what you were telling me the other day, I assume the diameters are different... Perhaps other dimensions, too. Is that what it'll cost you to get a used '86 relief valve? That sounds high. You should give George Buselinck a call at 944 Ecology. He probably has a plastic tote bin full of them in his basement.
It might also be worth calling Tommy at Advance Auto in Newburgh or Rick at Deman Motorsports.

Three Wheelin'
There are two versions of the new design "one piece". One fits the 1987 on, and the other is for 1983-1986. The three piece will only work in the early blocks as it was never installed by Porsche in the later blocks.
Early block replacement OPRV # 944.107.035.11
Late OPRV #944.107.035.01
Seal ring N 043.815.3 same for both valves
Do not use a hammer on the valve like one of your previous threads suggests! It takes a special alignment tool to get the oil filter housing bore aligned with the bore in the block.
