Default cracked front subframe

I found stress cracks on my front subframe/ engine support so I need to replace it this winter.

I've found several cheap ones for a s2 but I dont know if they are interchangeable. anyone know?

The engine crossmember is the same on all 944's as far as I am aware.

Have you checked those 'cracks' with dye penetrant yet? The reason I say this is many casting marks on both the X-member and bellhousing look exactly like cracks until tested. If they are actual cracks at least that part is easy to source and not very expensive.

The cracks, about the thinkness of my fingernail, are on the welds not the casting.

Actually when I talked to Dave Lindsey he mentioned there are some crossmembers that aren't set up with the mounting points for the engine mount heat shields. I think you would be ok with the S2 crossmember though.

I've got one from parting out my race car...would 100$ be fair? from a 1987 944 turbo and it does have the heat shield mounting points
