Default I need a inspection...BADLY

So I finally got my crap together and the car is nearly complete(just needs wideband install, fine tune, etc). I'll be getting it on the 15th.

Only one problem. The damn inspection is expired and im no longer in dallas where I have all my connections so I need some help from my fellow New York porsche enthusasits.

Does anyone know of a shop that will "help" me with my problem?

What do you need? They don't do emissions or anything upstate...just safety so long as the car is 1994 or earlier..

I just got an inspection and i don't have a cat or anything... All they do is check the horn, tires, one wheels brakes, lights, windshield etc. The guy that runs the shop was my bus driver as a kid but I don't have any sort of relationship with him. I also may know someone that works at the VW dealer near the mall that may pass someone..

awesome! I will definitely need that info. Only one problem. My horn doesn't work. It used too. It just stopped working awhile back. I could ask Gabe about possibly trying to fix it before I actually pick up the car.

Or perhaps thats something we can just fix in the driveway. Do you think they would let me slide without a working horn.

my horn actually didn't work.. they said if I could make a sound they will pass me. Ran inside bought a toggle switch.. wired it up to the horn and flipped the switch (not even in the car!) inspection sticker

if you can get up too new paltz i got a shop that will just throw a inspection sticker on no problem. as long as theres no check engine light they dont look for anything else.

i drove my A4 in there with open downpipes no cat and running rich as hell. legit backfired as i pulled into the bay.

sticker on good too go

new paltz is a bit of a drive for me. I'll see if I can get intouch with reno's guy first.

If not hopefully mike or your guy will work out. Regardless I was worried about it and its nice to know there are several opitions available(I didn't know if there would be)

Pre-OBDII cars don't have to worry about the check engine light thing... because they can't plug the test computer into it.

There is a shop in Hyde Park - I'm friends with the owner. He inspects my cars (which are, of course, always fully legal!)

Another Porsche sympathetic shop is R&D Auto in Albany - but that's about 45 minutes from you. You can also go to Advance Auto in Newburgh - another Porsche specialty shop.
