Default stripped caster block mount

My car has been pulling to the right lately and i checked it once and figured it was my wheel bearings since there is play. I got under the car again last night and noticed both of my bolts came loose and one slightly bent. I bought new bolts and one nut effortlessly stripped out. Now what?

Does the nut spin freely? If it does youre somewhat up the creek sans paddles....

If its just stripped and doesnt spin, you can Timecert it.

You likely didn't strip the nut but rather the nut came loose inside the frame rail. They were only tack-welded in place and the welds have been known to break.

I had one stripped years ago and my mechanic cut the frame rail, peeled it down, re-welded the nut then welded up the rail. It's held fine, but now I have a nut on the other rail that is loose and I'm not sure how I'm going to attack it.

It's actually stripped, the threads were still on the bolt after removal.

I talked to a local porsche repair shop and I'm going to let them do this one since I dont want to risk screwing if up any more than it is.

If the nut is just stripped and still welded in a Timecert as Brian suggested would be easy. That nut doesn't see a lot of tension so a Timecert will be plenty strong enough.

I ran into that problem when I updated to 968 caster blocks. I helicoiled one side and it worked out fine. Timecerts are nice, but hard to find

Yes. Word to the wise. Be careful when screwing around with caster blocks!

My dialogue when installing caster blocks..."Godd***it go in there...No...YEAH, I got it..." followed by "F**K it is stripped!!!" and that is followed by a prybar being thrown across the garage.

Now you guys are scaring me. I need to do castors for my new wheels and now I don't really want to, are they really that necessary with larger wheels?

ABSOLUTELY! Don't be a muscle head and you'll be fine...mostly.

They are pretty easy to do if you or the P/O did not ruin them before. 968 caster blocks are worth the $$$.

Whats the secret to getting that eccentric bolt free from the block itself? There is just no damn way to hold it still.
