Default Back from the dead... (Warning - HUGE pics)

My turbo cab project is basically complete, or at least as complete as she's gonna get without new wheels and seats...

What do you think? Sprayed her over the past couple days basecoat & clear, and fixed up the body issues.

Even with a warning, those pics are just too big for most of us. May want to post scaled down versions with links to the big ones

Tool, where have you been!? Back from the dead is right! And the car looks great but the pics are 'huge'. We need to do some Photoshop on them and re-post them.

Rolex - I've been out of sorts... Too much family stuff. But - there's an 'all' car show at Porsche of Nashua this Sunday from noon till 4. And I will be there, assuming the family mtg goes well earlier in the day...

Wachuko - yeah... I always wanted one. So, take one dead S2, one 89 turbo S engine (thanks again Rolex and Chris W!), mix well, add lots of tme, parts, wiring diagrams, and a few bottles of advil and cases of beer, and whallah!

Ohhhh!!!! Wow! That is a lot of love, work, and dedication. Must have left some skin and blood in there in the process (I still have scars from when I worked in mine).

I miss my 951 I am glad it is still in the family and when I visit my brother-in-law I get to drive it (a beast now with all he has done).

Congratulations on that project. I need to search on your nickname to look at the rest of the story.

Well, here are a few shots from 'before' the work happened. Figure it'll be a year in October this year - wait - it's a year already... lol.

Those D90 wheels look pretty good to me. Why do you want to change them?

Default Why the wheels?

They're scratched up something nasty... And take away from the 'purdy' ness of the new paint job...

Yeah! Car is asking for some 3 piece speedline wheels or RH Speedline replicas... That would complete the car nicely. Even the phone dials would look much better than those... or Cup 1s... or Ruf... well, you get the idea that I am not a fan of those wheels

Well they certainly are period-correct. Are you planning on a full-restore to original specs or are you adding some nasty goodies?

Andre - well, let's see... To complete the real live turbo conversion to period specs I'd need:

A turbo tranny
A complete M030 option set
A tach with the boost gauge on it
Some wires from a car
The correct 'turbo twist' wheels

But that's about it. Chances are I'll leave the S2 tranny in there, as it's a little taller gear wise and it's cheaper to leave it in there until I kill it. Wheel wise, I'm looking but not hard for wheels, as the budget is a tad tight now that I poured the cash into finishing her up for Sunday), and things like that.

I've promised myself that this one remains stock, until such time as I decide to make her not stock.

She already has all the real live turbo goodies, dme, klr, complete exhaust, intake, intercooler, you name it. And it's all period correct (in fact from the same car). There's even a turbo waterpump and relay in there (that i need to hook up again power wise).

She's already faster than I can drive her, so if I'm going to make her faster, I need to first become faster myself, again. (Fond memory of my red 86 951 - 426h 427tq).

Jay
