I've installed 4 MLS gaskets on a 951 and they all did the same thing and none of them ever leaked. No big deal really once the head is on.

What's the consensus on using sealant with these? Seems like some do, some don't.

Use sealant around the front coolant passage....or it will leak (50% of the time)
I put a very thin coating on all the surfaces of the coolant passage 'ear' - including in between the layers.

Seems to be that some people actively say not to use sealant with these, but I can't see the problem.

Some folks want to spread sealant or copper spray over the whole gasket....I guess they just don't get the concept!
