noop tony, it's not like we have any.. in europe at all I think.
I used to own a ram 2500 hemi though.. weee v8
guessing I'll have just more of everything, and not the silly lag and bad powercurve.

You have no idea how great the car will be with the LS1.
Make sure you do the power brake setup.

why should this not work? my car will be quite light once done, and I've driven other cars with manual racks and no problems.
the ls1 is just a test engine to show to the government and get it approved. trust me, I will have double the power once its done
awaiting my friends miata dyno results before i decide on engines, but looks as I need 6-700 to match his powe to weight :|

actually my plan is to use a manual pedal setup from tilton with balance bars, calipers are from 996 C2/C4 front & rear with gt3 supercup rotors (330) front and custom rear.

You still need the power brakes. Been there, done that... The car is too heavy. There's a reason why the factory race cars use power brakes. I've tried the manual brake thing, and everybody that drove the car said it was unsafe, including myself.
And you need the power steering. Using big wide sticky tires on the front with manual steering is brutal on the track. In our testing with multiple drivers, apples-to-apples, the car was almost exactly 1 second slower per lap with manual steering (for all three drivers).
I've been "around the block" with this conversion.

yes, I will keep powersteering, no way I can turn thoose 295's without it..
but I'm not sure about the brakes yet, I should be able to hit 1200KG, including full tank of fuel, cage etc.

Do the power brakes. The Tilton dual master is cool, but it's just too much effort without the power assist. You will have a much harder time being consistent around the track.
Make sure you get the Turn-1 LS1 power steering pump valved for the Porsche rack. You will have problems without it (the fluid will over heat) for sure. It's about $375USD with the custom pulley.
