Oh that just made me think of something else. I once had an issue like this on a different car. It turned out to be a cracked sparkplug. Might wanna pull them out anyway to be sure one didn't get cracked while changing the wires.

The plugs are recent, but it never hurts to check them out. The ground on the back of the head? Do you mean the one on the BH?

yep - the one at the bell housing..... make sure clean and tight.... also double check wiring was not damaged

you can start the car with say two cylinders connected at a time to check if you have a misbehaving cylinder or if its a problem consistent across all cylinders. Disconnect the injector harness connector on the cylinders that u want to switch off (rather than the spark plug lead so u don't flood the disconnected cylinder with fuel)
My car idles nicely on two cylinders.
just another idea to try, good luck with it.
