Default Dashmount guage pod ideas, PLEASE!

I have a single VDO boost gauge which I am having a hard time figuring out how to mount. I want it to look clean ( my interior is 100% stock). right now i have it to the left of the steering column above the vents with an adhesive that loosens everytime it gets warm. Any ideas?

Default gauges

did this in my car shortly before I sold it... just 2 pieces of ABS cut to the shape of the storage bin opening with concentric holes to make the gauges look flush. The gauges are VDO boost and oil temp from eGauges.

My car is a 89 turbo (turbo S), so the interior is not the same below the radio. There is an eq down there.

Techno Duck: I do like your in dash look, do you have a write-up or pictures on it? How long/how much work? What are the issues?

Any other ideas of on or in the dash?

A-pillar gauge pods can be painted to match the stock color and don't require changing anything on your dash-

I would have made a few extra of these, but it is not really an exact science. Everyone will come out a little different. I still have the template for it and can maybe cut one out for you..but i hope your not in a rush because i am one lazy SOB .

I will fit them like this, and to the right there will be boost control valve and abs on/off switch.

Looks familiar!! I still have an extra that I made if you want me to send it to ya. There is a thread that Techno Duck made describing the process. The thing I liked, is that you can pull power straight off of the tiny bulb behind the vents to power the boost gauge, and it will dim with the rest of the lights!

If you want to keep the console as clean and original as possible, I think the dual pillar pod is the way to go.

Absolutely. Plus, you got to love that 930 wheel too! I know Ski loves that one.

Cheap, easy, and puts it in a perfect spot IMHO. All it needs is one of the cup mounting kits from autometer, and a longer screw that replaces the one that goes in that same location to hold the pillar trim in place. And some stuff to tuck the wires/hose out of the way. Plus you keep the dash vents, odo reset button, and the super useful little bin.

I also found this to be a good viewing angle for the gauge.
