If you did want one for functional reasons, then you should really read the postings by NZ951, he did extensive testing. Excellent info, to say the least. But if you wanted it for looks, you can keep it.

I attempted to fit one on a friends car.. the fitment was very poor on the one that i had. I have no problem 'massaging' fiberglass parts to fit because that is mostly to be expected..but it was far enough off there was no way in heck it was going to fit without alot of work.

Perhaps the mold was fixed or maybe i was just fitting a bad one..but i would not buy one for my car.

BTW, i consider myself to be pretty decent with fiberglass work..but this was well beyond my skills.

As I recall, you aren't the only person to report that.

I've been considering it as a part of my cosmetic mod project but I know fiberglass is a pain to fit and I'd be too worried every time it rained or I washed the car.

I didn't know rain could damage rice?

Never eat soggy rice

I've already realized 951 engines prefer a dry climate under the hood, no 924 turbo for me for now.

I had one for a while. When my car was being painted the bodyshop couldn't work with it. It came apart during the prep process. They re-installed the stock cover.

Yeah mine was a mile off too... so much so I ended up cutting the ducts out and bonding them to the metal cover. Took a lot of effort for no gains. But thats life. I couldnt do the work myself, took it to a shop.
