Help Please (power loss on left turn - rv)
Hello All,
Here is my trouble. ‘86 951. I experience random power failures either going into or coming out of a left turn, usually less than 20 mph.
It’s either had a stutter which the car will recover on its own, or like this morning I needed to find the shoulder and pull off with zero engine power.
Things that I've noticed thus far.
1. It’s always in or out of a left turn, not high speed; like pulling away at a green arrow in traffic or pulling out of a parking lot.
2. It’s always been following a cold start.
I've replaced the Coil, Rotor and Cap. Oddly though, those 3 items, the engine sounded and seemed quieter. Maybe it’s me, off subject.
Still having the issue, I replaced the DME Fuel Relay.
As, stated earlier, this morning was the worst stall ever. Took several attempts to get is running again. This was under its own cranking power.
Other working theories:
Could I have sediment in the fuel tank?
Could I have a block or dirty fuel filter?
Could I have a bad fuel pump?
This one is a stretch,(No pun intended) but could there be an electrical harness that could be experiencing torque or stresses within a left turn?
Suggestions or if someone has had first hand experience with this type of oddity would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You.
Brad
