Anyone using it and how does this it compare to Valvoline VR1?

Kendall GT used to be the ticket. However, the company was sold a few years back and the formula is not the same. As I understands it, the original Kendall GT oil is now sold as "Brad Penn" oil.

I saw it the other day at Autozone when I went to buy my VR1 and it was under $3.00 a quart, but it was a black bottle with a red top and it said Kendall not Brad Penn...

He meant the original formulation. The new Kendall GT isn't the same as it was. You probably won't find Brad Penn branded oil on the shelf.

There's similar discussion about VR1 not being the same as it was either.

I checked the product info for the Kendall and it has slightly less ZDDP than the VR1 in it, .11 compared to .13

Used Kendall GT in the past, but changed over to Agip with ZDDPlus added into the most recent oil change.
