Tricks to secure the halfshaft bolts? What are you racers doing?

One axle popped out while i was parking, and i posted here (long time back) about this.
Thing is, i never touched the axle at all, and owned the car for 2 years before the axle popped out.
After reading everyones posts about tightening anything circular in an X pattern, i followed those directions.
Never had that axle popping out or loosening after 3 years driving...
I apply the same concept to wheel lug nuts, and should be done on the flywheel (and anything else with similar bolt patterns).
