Default CV gator

looked under the car and found greese above the transaxle. On further inspection I have noticed that one of the gators on the CV boot has split. Having looked on Paragon I see that they sell a CV boot kit. my question

Is this part an easy fit?
As I only need the gator, is there an easier way to just fit that?

I'm not sure what you mean by "gator"... but the CV joint is held onto the shaft with a snap ring and splines - remove the snap ring and the joint slides off. That's the easy way to change boots. If you're doing the driver's inboard side, that's pretty easy because it's accessible. Any of the other 3, and you have to take the half shaft all the way out.
