Default higher or lower octane for smog check?

Or does it make a difference at all? I have to have a smog check done ASAP (hopefully today) and just put about 1/3 tank of VP 95 octane in last night, and now I'm wondering if that was a good thing ot not?

I've read here on the 'list that xylene will help to pass smog, and elsewhere that ethanol will burn cleaner too, so maybe I'm OK?

109 Unleaded is the only thing that got mine to pass. Good luck.
