Default OPRV question

I have a couple questions about the OPRV differences. I bought an 86 shortblock for my 87 951. I am beginning to move everything over from the 87 onto the 86 and I know there is a difference in the OPRV from early to late.

If I remove the sleeve that sits in the 86 block, can I then use the OPRV from the 87?
Is there an easy way to get the sleeve out?

or if doing all this will be too much trouble....anyone have an early style OPRV for sale?

Thanks...

PS: anyone have a K27 turbo for sale?

You can only use the early style OPRV in the 86 block. Although you didn't ask, there is no difference in the oil housing so that will not be a concern.

Sending you a PM also.

From an earlier thread. How would you remove the sleeve?

There is a special tool to install the sleeve...or you can put in the freezer overnight and install it into the block, then let it sit for a few minutes until it expands.

You remove the old one with a pair of vise grips or channel locks.

Thanks Darwin, that's what I was looking for! The sleeve doesn't make a difference...
I'll pick the old style OPRV and hopefully I'll have this car running by next weekend!
