Default Stiffer springs in head = more lifter noise??

As the statement implies...I had LR rebuild my head with their "stiffer" racing springs and have noticed an increase in lifter noise. Is this common? I'm using Valoline VR1 20/50. All else seems fine...runs cool, no leaks of any kind though i'm still trying to figure out why my A/F bounces around more than i'd like it. Thanks in advance for any help.

Could it be the stiffer springs are "slamming" the valves closed?? I'd call Dave and ask him what's up.

I had my head rebuilt and used EBS +30% springs. I did not get any increase in lifter noise so I wouldn't think extra lifter noise would be related to the increased spring tension necessarily.
