Lart, is the 951S LSD the same as the S2 LSD, and is it the same brand/type as the early 968 LSD? Thanks.

According to the descriptions in the service manuals, all the factory limited slips for 944-variant cars are the same.

The 951S and S2 do use the same -05 version of LSD (ZF made, clutch type as other have said). As Richard states, the earlier 951 LSD (-03) units had thinner friction discs w/ are no longer available.

I am pretty sure the 968 clutch type LSD was also made by ZF, and had a similar 40/40 lock rate, but I do not believe it is interchangeable w/ any of the 944 5 spd transmissions.

From what Im learning, the 968 went from the ZF LSD unit to the less expensive TBD unit in 93 or 94. Thanks.
