First off - your running stock or slightly above stock boost. At this boost level your in the low-200rwhp range. Nobody wants your estimated hp/tq. Especially when no K26/6 has made 300rwhp (don't bring up Johns –his was most likely was a cheater k26/6).
Second, get a boost gauge. They are not expensive, even for a 16year old (especially if you live in the house in your avitar).
Finally, your MASS Air Flow stuff is fine. Is there better stuff, sure. But for the level of performance your at, there really isn't a need to spend the money for a better setup.

Enjoy the car, save your money for when stuff breaks. Or for dates - 16 with a Porsche, shouldn't be hard to get a date or two.

Good advice! Especially for a 16 year old.

...erghh...the mind boggles...
take care kid. Seriously. Even 200whp is quick and dangerous. Save up and do a driving course at the track.

THAT is funny! I was thinking the same thing.
"How could I F%CK up this car if I were 16?"

Dillon, I was going to place a VDO boost guage, on ebay, on Monday, for 75 bucks. It even has tubing.
However, if you would like it, I'll sell it to you for 60.
PM me and I'll send you a couple of pics. It matches the stock guages, as they too are all VDO's.

Did the previous owner repaint the header panel with the hood open?

And as far as being 16 and not being able to afford anything, I can hardly believe that. I got my S2 at 16, with no job and already one vehicle. It was hard, and you had to really question what you wanted. I can definitely tell you that a girlfriend will only compound matters, so I'd advise not having one.

Then again, I'm just now 18 with no job...and now 3 vehicles, o...and yea, a girlfriend too. lol

Also, about the LSD...check the option list in the hatch. I'd hate for someone to be sold a 944 under the conditions it has LSD when it really doesn't...

When I was 18, Porsche produced the very first 944 turbo.

did you want a 951 when you were 18 or did you not even know about them. I got interested in the 944's since my dad had a 1987 944S with 68K original miles and a pristine interior that is now mine since my brother slid into a tree at 10 mph. even though at car shows when I would bring my 951, some people would come up and say thats the sh!tiest Porsche ever made " the poor mans porsche", but to me, I believe It was one of the coolest Porsches made....especially the turbo and turbo S

well its off the car. Maybe someone will buy it and take it apart to find out.

or i'll break down one of these days and have it taken apart. It sure looks like a 26/6.

and a side note rogue has given you really good advice dillon. Take it slow. buy a boost gauge and first find out how much boost you are running. From there I wouldn't really worry about dialing it up on the stock turbo. The 26/6 really runs outta efficency past 17-18psi anyhow. Boost above that just yields more tq not hp.

There are plenty of other supporting mods you can do to the car to aid the power level without adjusting boost pressure. If I were you though i'd be making sure I knew what was in the car first and making sure all the proper maintance had been done to it. I think i'd start with suspension and breaks next.

Add a cosmetic mod or two and take a track day. Save up and do research in a couple of years when you can really afford to upgrade properly ditch the old maf and buy a new setup. One that works well with what you intend to use the car for.

There are so many ways to go. Its really a personal choice. As far as quessing your hp. Without knowing how much boost you are running its hard to say but, most 26/6 cars even with decent boost(18psi) don't make much more than 270rwhp and thats with FULL supporting mods which you don't have.

I'm sure your in the 215-225rwhp range if you are running 13-14psi with those mods.

Yeah - if you find out I would be curious to know. I don't doubt you put down 300rwhp. But wouldn't be surprised if the previous owner didn't hook you up

Know about it? Hell, I rode in the first one sold at Brumos Porsche. One of my friends Dad bought it.
The sticker on my 87 says 54000 bucks. The 951 was DEFINITELY not a poor man's car. Hell 944's were in the mid 20's. Theywere less expensive, but they certainly weren't cheap.
A comparison would be the Boxster to the 997.

exactly
I can't talk too much crap about the 924 " the real poor mans porsche" because thats what the 944 was designed from. It went from 924 > 944 > 968

the 924 was just a new car to fit the 914 slot. It wasn't a bad little car.
