Default What is this connector, please?

The wires on the connector in the right side of the photo are frayed/not good and I don't have a diagram to trace. Anyone know what it is? It goes right into the main harness and into the firewall. (I wish my manuals would arrive.) Since it goes right into the harness boot I'm guseeing the fix is aobtain a new connector, cut off old one and solder on the the new; but I sure would like to know what it is first! Wonder if this is the mystery source of the intermittent starting problem I have once in a while??? hmmmmmmmm... Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance...

Looks like the O2 sensor / reference sensor connector area.

Due to my bionic vision, those are the speed and reference sensors to the right, o2 sensor to the left.

edit: dammit Jon beat me to it again!

I was looking pretty hard and I think you found the missing evidence in the OJ Simpson case!

The one on the left is the 02 sensor connection the one on the right (and just below it) are the speed & reference sensor connections.

So then, bad connector leading to the sensor would certinly cause no start, yes? In the LARGER photo you can see the munched end of the connector. I can see a bit of wire throughtthe insulation and the other wire is not much better. Where the f--- do I get one of these? Do thay come new? or is it off to 944ecology? Anyone know which one is on the top; speed or reference?

Thanks for all the moral support too! Glad I could cheer up a few of you!!!

If those connectors are bad you will definitely have a no start. See the thread below.
