Default Typical wideband 02 life?

Had mine installed since 04 I think (thats about ~8k miles or so)

Always seemed to read correctly (compared to the 2 times Ive strapped the car to a dyno) - last weekend on the way to Porsches 2 Oxford it showed my AFRs in the 15's under cruise and in the 12's under boost. Usually it reads 14s @ cruise and high 11's on boost.

Will running Xylene a few times a year kill it quicker than standard pump gas?

What have other seen - do they just start reading high or low once they go out?

Either way I was planning on ordering the boost sensor from Zeitronix this week so I guess I will add a new 02 sensor as well.

Thanks,
Sam

Definitely needs replacement, I dont believe you can recalibrate with zeitronix either but a sensor run that long should be recalibrated.

Thanks Mike, will get one ordered today/tmrw.

Zeitronix responded that an exhaust leak could cause the numbers to be off and said that usually when sensors fail they fail at 14.7, 9 or 21 and seem to get sluggish. He wouldnt rule out the sensor though and with 4 years of use a new one cant hurt. He said no calibration/reset necessary.

Thanks again Mike for your pm. Since Id never had my sensor off Mike told me the 02 sensor carries a VW part number and I could get it cheaper there - I went to the dealer and the price has gone up!! (quoted me $143, their price is about 107-110 now I think)

Anyways, just a heads up - found it on Amazon for $50.98, 3 day standard shipping total = $56.09
