Default Maxtronic no start *UPDATE - Kudos to Russell!*

My car fires right up with stock chips. If I swap in the Maxtronic, it won't even start. Has anyone had this issue? Is there something special I need to do?

UPDATE: see post #13

The wrong inject size in the fuel maps will do that. Are you sure the chip setup for MAF and injectors is correct?

I've emailed Russell, but he assured me in the past that the maps are correct.

If the chips were damaged by static the car wouldn't start.

Don't suppose you have an eprom programmer laying about....you can get them on ebay for less than a tank of gas.

So, car starts with stock so all the normal "stuff" works. Do you have the right FPR for the chips? I would think the new chip require a 3 bar FPR.

Or, one of the common mistakes, the chip is installed backwards?

Just spent an hour on the phone with Russell. He was kind enough to call me after I emailed him late last night. He interrupted his trip to the beach with his son to diagnose my problem. It appears to be a hardware issue as my car doesn't see a chip at all when the Maxtronic is plugged in. He'll be sending me a new cable and box on Monday. I should have it by Wednesday and be able to let folks know how it works out.

Kudos Russell - and Thanx!!!!
