cheap build quality...horrible looks...and the majority of the drivers are still hitting puberty = skip...I am sure they are faster than 951s but I think a modded 951 could prolly keep up in a straight line and blow them away in the twisties.
and no brake checks in the 951...but if I am in my beater (98 5.9 jeep grand cherokee) is might be a different story.

trying to understand this (and other cars) objectively: how can a car with 290 advertised hp weighing 3400lb be faster than a mod'd 951 with let's say at least 280 to 300'ish hp and weight in at 3000lb? plus the awd must have tremendous drivetrain loss. furthermore can awd with electronic yaw control overcome the design of tall and narrow vs a very low and wide 951? like i said, i can't understand it by the numbers, but the evo and sti 's are fast. also how does a motor outlast a warranty running 20+ psi? do they weld the head to the block?

Have two friends with Evo's. Ones an MR and ones an 8. Easily dispatch both of them. I make about 250rwhp. Other friends cars that cant keep up: 3000GT vr-4, 02 WRX, 03 WRX modded, 240sx w/ CA18DET, 240sx w/ KA24DET, 94 JDM WRX..think thats most of the turbo ones.

The build quality might not be close to our beloved German car's, but respect should absolutely be given to the performance ability of the cars. I dont know of many other $35k cars that can keep pace with some of the $100+k super cars.

ya never no there easy to mod and easy to drive I had a real pro take me around nurburgering (forgive spelling) in a 997gt3 we were passing everything like it was stationary and an evo posted a challenge for a few corners before yielding to the natural order of the universe

Are yall smoking crack? I guess not all Evos are the one in this video (evo 8?), but: Top Gear: Evo vs Lamborghini Murcielago
0-60 in 3.5 seconds stock
flat out 175mph
Somebody show me your 951 that posts those numbers and can go deeper into a corner...
